In the haute couture universe, the novelties are constant, whether on the runways or behind the scenes and one of the most recent is known as Clare Waight Keller, the newest artistic director of the Italian maison Givenchy.
After 12 years under fashion designer Ricardo Tisci, Givenchy presented this week the first collection signed by Clare Waight, who was previously the artistic director of Chloé, where she was in the lead for 6 years. And it does not stop there, the curriculum of the stylist is very extensive. She started her career at Calvin Klein in New York, where she was responsible for the women’s line and then also headed for the Ralph Lauren men’s line. At Gucci, she was responsible for the female pret-a-porter, and finally, shortly before moving on to Chloé, she was in Pringle in Scotland.
The collection brought classic lines of the brand, such as straight cut suit and elongated length and embroidered dresses with some detail that brought transparency. But despite presenting a classic Givenchy mood, Clare was able to blend her clean and delicate style into each piece, which made them stylish, modern and subtly sexy in a certain measure.
