Reza’s story began in Moscow where its founder Alexandre Reza was born in 1922 into a family of jewelers. The family soon moved to France and settled in Nice. On the colorful French Riviera of the 1930s, Alexander first discovered his lifelong passion for precious gems and learned the art of bargaining with his father at his shop on Rue de France.

After the war, Alexander moved to Paris, where he soon became famous for his undisputed talent for the world’s most exceptional gems and his ability to imagine a rock beyond his initial appearance. His knowledge and collection grew stronger and stronger as modern travel enabled him to acquire the best gems from sources in Colombia, India, Burma, Thailand, Sri Lanka and other important mining and trading centers.

His experience as a gem-connoisseur coupled with the impressive collection he accumulated allowed him to establish himself in the 1950s as the leading supplier of gemstones to some of Place Vendôme’s most prestigious jewelers. In addition, he began to produce original pieces of high-end jewelry for international brands and private customers. Many of Reza’s jewels take years to be ready because they are marked by their infallible commitment to finding the right design and the perfect gemstone to achieve perfection.

His son Olivier continues today the tradition with the same focus and dedication to quality in the exclusive salons at 21 Place Vendôme and at the iconic Ritz Palace
